National Shower with a Friend Day: Not What You’re Thinking!

Look, I know what you're thinking, and no - this isn't THAT kind of blog post! *winks*

February 5th marks one of those wonderfully weird "national days" that makes you do a double-take on your calendar. National Shower with a Friend Day was actually created back in 2014 by a shower head company (clever marketing, right?) to promote water conservation and shower safety. But let's be real - the name definitely catches attention!

Here's the thing - they really meant "shower your friends with kindness" and raise awareness about water conservation. Though I can't help but laugh at how many eyebrows must raise when people first hear about this day!

Some actually-appropriate ways to celebrate:

- Gift your buddy some fancy shower products (no awkward bathroom sharing required!)

- Share water-saving tips with friends

- Maybe just stick to singing in the shower solo 😂

Fun fact: The average American spends about 8 minutes in the shower using roughly 20 gallons of water. Multiply that by 330 million people and... yikes! No wonder we need a day to think about water conservation.

Real talk though - while the name of this holiday makes for great jokes and memes, it's pretty genius how it got us talking about serious stuff like water conservation and shower safety for elderly folks. Well played, shower head company, well played!

So maybe keep the actual showering to yourself, but definitely use today to spread some love to your friends... just, you know, fully clothed and preferably not in a bathroom!

Anyone else feeling slightly uncomfortable yet thoroughly amused by this holiday? Drop a comment below! 💦😅

Until next time,
